History - How born the name of the city.
The region where the city of Orlando is located, was inhabited by a tribe of native americans known by the name of seminoles. During the first seminole war a soldier named Orlando Reeves was killed in 1836, on his sugar-producing lands, his body was buried next to a tree, with his name written on it. Later some settlers who arrived in the region called the region by the name written on the tree, thus becoming the name of the city known as Orlando.
